The nervy run to classes from the cycles you alight,

The triumphant yells on threading strings to a kite,

The treasure hunt for a cricket ball lost while the play was still on!

Ah! Those Memories...

The flashes of light that shine so bright!

Drool-worthy 'Chaklis' made by mom,

Images of firecrackers that magazines adorn,

That elusive new dress that my dad just bought,

Flashes of frenzy, that each Festival brought!

Ah, those Memories...

Let me cling on, to those lingering bright spots!

The joy of sipping lollies with friends,

Those lunch boxes that you were happy to share,

Handing over answer sheets after your last exam,

Ending the year-long wait for two months of absolute fun!

Ah! Those Memories..

They live on, but I surely miss them, a lot!
